Staircycle
Probably the most unusual bicycle you’ve ever seen. It looks like the cross between a scooter and a stair-master and that’s the closest description I can think of. You ride the Staircycle standing upright. It is powered by pumping up and down on the stair treads, a-la-stair-master. It has hand brakes and even internal hub gears on some models. Yes there is one for adults too. The Staircycle takes advantage of a anatomically correct position for exercise and riding. There is little to no fatigue on your neck, lower back or wrist and hands. You can also connect the Staircycle to an indoor cycle trainer for year round exercise. Kids models start at $275 and prices go up to $795 for the full featured Adult model. Sock Monkey Slippers
I know you remember the Sock Monkey doll that has been around since the 40’s. It was made from thick wool socks, that were sewn in to that endearing little monkey doll that would last through most childhoods. Seaside Ice
What to do this holiday season that is cool and unique? How about Ice skating at the beach. This is truly a California anomaly. Only in LA can this be done in the winter time. The Seaside Lagoon located at 200 Portofino Way in Redondo Beach, Ca. has, for a limited time a full service Ice skating rink. located right at/on the beach. What a cool thing to do with the kids or a friend. Get there before it closes because it ends January 11th. Hours are Monday – Thursday from 11AM to 9:30 PM, Friday from 11AM to 10PM and Weekends from 10AM to 10PM. Price is $14.00 for Adults and $12.00 for Kids under 12 years old.
