Legoland & The Four Seasons Aviara Combo
This is the killer combo. So, you’ve finally decided to take the little ones down to Legoland in Carlsbad and you are dreading it. Whether you live in Los Angeles or are just visiting, the 90 mile trip may seem a little daunting. By the time you reach the place, the little ones are exhausted, and your patience is waning. This is the solution that I have found to make the experience much more enjoyable for everyone. The Four Seasons Aviara Resort in Carlsbad has a package deal with the Legoland Park. Included in the purchase price of any room, are two adult tickets to Legoland (60.00 each). In addition, the Four Seasons Aviara resort is only a five minute drive to Legoland. The resort has a world class Arnold Palmer designed golf course, a full service spa, a huge game room for the kids and even one for the teenage kids. There is a huge family swimming pool and family jacuzzi as well as a couples tranquility pool (no kids). They definitely cater to the children, with a special gift and designed snack tray for your arrival. The hotel goes all out for the kids and they also have an excellent room service menu. The basic room is great but at the last minute we upgraded to a full suite with separate living room and two patios and two separate full bathrooms. This combo made the entire trip a worthwhile journey and something that all of us wouldn’t mind doing every year. For more information visit these two links: FOUR SEASONS-AVIARA. LEGOLAND.

Heelarious
Check out these high heel booties for your infant. I find these things more of a gag gift then anything else. It’s all a matter of taste. For those of you revolted at the idea of a baby wearing heels, remember, they are called Heelarious.

Bakfiets Dutch Bike
Let’s get it together. C’mon people! Do it for yourself and for the earth. Why waste gallons of gasoline, pollute the air every day just dropping off the kids at the nearby school/park/playground, then drive to the gym to work out for an hour only to drive back and do it all again. It’s almost like driving to the gymnasium and taking the escalator upstairs to your workout. Get a grip. You, your heart, your lungs and your children would be much happier and much healthier if you drove one of these for those daily neighborhood chores. I’m not suggesting that you take this across town to work or on vacation. Heck, it’s not like we live in Amsterdam, for chrissakes. But for the cost of gas these and future days, and the lack of exercise we’re all getting, we can’t afford not to try something out of the box or into the box in this case. These are as common in Amsterdam as are Red light bulbs. Not only can it carry a huge load of groceries but they make them capable of carrying up to six children. The people are still wearing their chic, cool clothing, rain or shine. The children are happy. Everyone is out in the fresh air, among the populous. The more people who can convert to this ultra modern mode of transportation the more the city officials will yield to their needs. One person put it this way, their are so many automobile drivers that are cyclists in Amsterdam that it makes them extremely aware of the other cyclists on the road. Not the other way around. Or something like that. Go ahead, be a renegade. Remember you are the cool one. These are available here in the states, at DUTCHBIKESEATTLE, or through CLEVERCYCLES in Portland, you can also go direct to the source in Amsterdam to WORKCYCLES.
Either way you can’t go wrong. Join the movement, pardon the pun.
