Y Water
This L.A. based company make organic, low calorie nutrient rich water for kids, all in a cool recyclable bottle that can be used for creative play later. There’s 4 types of water, Brain Water, Immune Water, Muscle Water & Bone Water. The Bone Water has a blend of zinc, molybdenum, vitamins B6, B12 & C, all vital for brain function and development. Immune Water has vitamins A, C, E & B6. Muscle Water contains Magnesium, Selenium, Potassium and vitamins A & C and Bone Water is enriched with Calcium, Iron, Fluoride and vitamins A, C & D. One bottle is 9 oz. and has only 11 grams sugar which is in the form of cane juice. But the big question is: Do kids like it? I tested it out on my 2 kids, 8 yrs and 3 yrs old. The older one liked it, the younger one drank half of it and did not want any more. Well, there you go, with kids it’s a crapshoot, but it’s worth trying out. Available at Whole Foods. Y WATER

Bot Water
I saw this water at Whole Foods today, and decided to try a bottle for my kids. I was a little sceptical on how it would taste and if it would be well received by my kids. I bought the grape flavor. Well, my girls loved it. I tried some and it’s really good. It has a very fresh taste without tasting artificial. I would say it tastes like a kid’s version of Glaceau’s Fruit water. This water is infused with the essential B vitamins and only 40 calories per 12 once bottle. I am hoping that if I keep some of this stuff in the fridge, they will reach for this instead of a juice box. Bot comes in 4 flavors and the characters on the bottles are very cute. BOT

Sigg Kids Bottles
Sigg has been making aluminum bottles since 1908. These swiss made bottles are a stylish way to reduce environmental waste. Just fill them up with water or other beverage and they stay nice and cool. My girls love their bottles. They have been drinking more water as a result. I am happy about that. Before they use to fill up on juice. Just another way to help you become carbon-neutral.

WeeGo Glass Bottle
Old is new again. Because of concerns over toxic plastics, some are going back to good old glass. Glass can be boiled, washed in the dishwasher and sterilized without the fear of leaching toxins. The only problem with glass is the obvious, it can break. Well, the Babylife company has come up with the best solution if you want to use glass bottles. The WeeGo bottle has a silicone protective sleeve to help prevent breakage. The sleeve also makes it non-slip so it’s is to grip. The nipples on the bottles are silicone and the rest of the bottle parts are free of bisphenal A , phthalates, PVC and polycarbonate. BABYLIFE

Toxic Plastics
If you are having a hard time remembering which plastics are toxic and which are not, then here is a handy chart I found at Care2.com. I am always looking at the plastics in my house, especially the sippy cups. I hope this comes in handy.
