Moncler
Not to be outdone, your little one can also be tres’ chic for the winter season and as far as practicality goes, they do need a good winter coat. These however are the coolest ones you will see. Moncler is not just some fashion house, no no my friends, Moncler was the first maker of a down filled coat, first seen on Lionel Terray, a famous Italian Mountain climber in 1952. Then it was Moncler who outfitted the Italian Olympic ski team for the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, France. This was the first quilted, down-filled winter parka. Mod Mom Furniture
This small line of kids furniture is designed by an ex-TV network marketing executive turned stay-at-home mom. Her designs are modern/mid century inspired kid’s furniture. All of her pieces are made by hand in her garage and are named after cool kids she knows. She uses birch wood and non-toxic paints, water based stains and finishes. Some of her products include really cool and functional toy boxes. One of my favorites is The Lauren Play Table which features a detachable Lazy Suzan in your choice of colors. Here is a great bed for the 10 year + set. It includes a built in armoire with one shelf and a hangbar for additional storage. When you configure it with the matching Alex desk, you have the perfect all-in-one set up. This bed is made of 100% hardwood and non-toxic lacquered paint. It’s a bit pricey at $2,350, but partly because this bed is not some junk from China that won’t last very long. This bed is made in the US from a company called DucDuc, where quality control is very important. You can even request custom finishes. Definitely a nice bed. Keith Haring Wall Decals
If you remember the cool NY graffiti artist Keith Haring (1958-1990) from the eighties then you’ll love these wall decals for your kids room. Available in over seven different graphics. These bold decals are the same drawings that Haring drew all over New York with chalk over black. He later developed the signature “Haring” look: The Radiant Baby, the Barking Dog, the Running Figure and Dancing People. This is great way to introduce Pop art to the little ones.
